Volunteers

Parent volunteers are the cornerstone of MCGSA. Moms and dads interested in coaching will receive training and certification. Your daughter's team will always need parents to serve as assistant coaches, team photo coordinators and team party planners.

2008 Criminal History

Committed parents can become candidates to serve on the Board of Directors. Made up entirely of volunteers, this body makes the policy decisions for MCGSA as well as coordinating all the work of the association, including operations and administration, fields upkeep, equipment maintenance and distribution, fund raising and league directorship.

MCGSA appreciates the many contributions parents make to the program and values the sportsmanship and support Murphey Candler parents consistently demonstrate.

Coach: Instructs girls on softball fundamentals, sportsmanship, game strategy, teamwork and most importantly promotes having fun.

Auxiliary Volunteers: Starting with the 2008 season, we are organizing most of our volunteer efforts through an "Auxiliary Volunteer" organization. If you would like to help with Opening Day, Pictures, Braves Day, Fund Raising, or other activities during the season, please select the Auxiliary Volunteer option on the registration. The auxiliary organization will contact volunteers to organize committees and plan events. If you want to be a committee chairperson, or just help with picture day, the Auxiliary will be organizing these efforts.

Team parent: The Team Parent will assist the Manager with telephone calls throughout the season, coordinate Opening Day activities, remind the other team volunteers of their assigned meetings, and plan the end-of-the-season party. This individual also is responsible for collecting money from team parents for the budget, administering concession coupons to players at the end of each games, and purchasing end-of-year gifts.
